Lodge Meetings are held at 4.30pm sharp on the 4th Wednesday in January, April (Installation) June and October at Freemasons Hall Gt. Queen St. London. WC2B 5AZ. In reality, meetings often start later because there is a very nice bar at Freemasons Hall and it can be difficult to extract members on time.
A CENTRAL LONDON LODGE OF EXCELLENCE
Our Ideal Candidate should have a sense of humour, camaraderie and energy, and even having risen to great heights in his career, he should not have forgotten his roots. We have a wide age range and welcome new members at any point in their adult life., although we are keen to recruit youthful candidates and such is the nature of St John’s Wood Lodge, that any person, of any calling, would fit in as long as they had a good sense of humour and camaraderie (Even if they can’t spell it!) We also warmly welcome any existing Freemason looking to join a new Lodge. As with all Freemasonry, neither religion nor politics are discussed at meetings.
We seek as members those who can commit to a regular attendance at our Central London Lodge meetings and who wish to contribute to the life and work of the Lodge itself….and beware, you will get regularly volunteered into assisting either for the ceremonial aspects of Freemasonry or as recruiting, and also those who would one day wish to become its Worshipful Master.
Cost: Yes there is a small cost involved for membership as the Grand Hall is not free to hire as well as for our festive board meal after Lodge Meetings although the majority of funds collected are for charity and most of our effort is towards charitable ends.
So, how do you become a member? Simple email stjohnswoodlodge@gmail.com to get started.

![]() Worshipful Master | James has been a Freemason since 1998 when he was initiated into a Devonian lodge that his Father & Uncles were all members of. He joined London Freemasonry in 2003 just after Metropolitan Grand Lodge was formed, having got a job in London needing a local unit to join. In 2014, he was lucky to be appointed as Metropolitan Grand Steward and then Metropolitan Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2019. He has been in St John Wood Lodge now for about 6 or 7 years and have seen it grow in numbers over those years. | |
